Donna Mills is reminding fans that looking good at any age requires discipline and dedication.
Speaking with Fox News Digital, the “Knots Landing” star, now 85, said that maintaining her health and appearance involves daily effort rather than luck or genetics.
“I think the people out there have to realize it takes work. You can't just decide, ‘Oh, I'm going to look good,’ you know?” Mills said on the “Really Famous” podcast hosted by Kara Mayer Robinson. “I didn't wake up looking like this.”
The actress revealed that she works out almost every day and frequently plays tennis.
Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement
“I started out as a dancer, so I know how essential that is, and I know what it means for your body,” she explained. “And I know that I don't have, at my age, any of the things that happen to the body, you know? I mean I’ve not had any knees replaced or hips replaced or anything, you know, because I never stopped working out.”
Mills said many people tend to slow down physically after having children or reaching a certain stage of life.
“And so, for years they don't work out,” she said. “You can't get that back. You really can't. You can start to work out again … but you've lost something in that time.”
Her advice is straightforward: consistency. “Just keep doing it always and then your body will respond the way it should,” she said.

Mills shared that when she takes a break from exercise for a few weeks, she feels the difference immediately.
“It's hard,” she admitted. “And I go, ‘I'm never going to do this again,’ because I do a lot of stretching and that just tightens up real fast. So, starting again, it's painful and all that, but once you do it, you know, three or four days and then, you know, it all kind of moves in again and works again.”
She urged others to avoid long breaks from physical activity, adding, “Just keep working out. Always.”
Mills’ dedication to staying active has kept her in the spotlight for decades, from her early years on “Knots Landing” to her more recent appearance on “Doctor Odyssey.”
Her message serves as both motivation and a reality check for anyone seeking to age well: there’s no secret shortcut, just commitment and movement.
