Elsa Pataky stretched her 50th birthday celebrations into a tropical getaway with friends, sharing a collection of striking photographs from the Maldives.
The actress documented sparkling water, relaxed beach afternoons and a vivid sunset beside an infinity pool.
One photograph showed Pataky wading through turquoise shallows in pale pink bikini bottoms with contrasting black trim and a matching top.
Her blonde hair fell in loose waves down her back as a ray moved through the nearby water.
In another image, she leaned against a tree on the sand while wearing the same bikini beneath white lace trousers.
The sheer, flared trousers featured a scalloped pattern and drawstring waist, while layered gold necklaces completed her beach outfit.
Pataky captured the mood of the celebration in her Instagram caption.
“Another year around the sun, celebrated in paradise with some of my favorite people.”

The Maldives getaway extended the festivities following her birthday on July 18. It came after earlier adventures in Africa and a family holiday in Costa Rica with her husband, Chris Hemsworth, and their children.
This trip placed her girlfriends at the center of the celebration, which included another birthday cake and candles.
The photographs also offered glimpses of quiet moments shared by the group during their time together.
One image showed Pataky seated between two friends on a wooden deck overlooking the sea.

The three women wrapped their arms around one another’s waists as they posed against the ocean backdrop.
For that photograph, Pataky wore a brown bikini decorated with a small dotted pattern. She left her hair loose and finished the look with sunglasses.
Elsewhere, the actress traded her two piece bikini for a plunging burgundy swimsuit.
She posed beside a ladder leading directly into the sea, while another group portrait showed the women standing together on white sand with overwater buildings behind them.
A separate photograph captured seven friends sitting along the edge of an infinity pool.

Behind them, the setting sun transformed the sky into a wash of orange.
Pataky has previously discussed the consistency behind her fitness routine and the variety of exercise she makes time to complete.
In a December 2025 interview with ¡HOLA!, she said she trained for about 45 minutes to an hour, five days each week.
Her schedule combined strength training and cardio with activities including yoga or Pilates.
She typically reserved three days for strength work and two for cardio, then took weekends off.

Pataky also encouraged women to become more comfortable with lifting weights.
Joking about the idea that doing so would leave them with Hemsworth’s muscular build, she said, “You're not going to end up looking like my husband.”
Her approach to food similarly focuses on habits she can maintain rather than brief periods of restrictive eating.
During an appearance on Sunrise, she questioned the value of crash diets adopted before a holiday or the summer months.

“I feel like miracles don't exist. Mediterranean food every day, not just [for] periods of time,” Pataky said. She has also said her breakfasts often include oats, fruit and seeds.
Her routine leaves space for foods she enjoys on weekends, including pizza and desserts.
She prefers tea to coffee and avoids alcohol because she dislikes how it makes her feel afterward.
As she celebrated turning 50, Pataky told HELLO! that she was entering a new era of “self-confidence.”
She said, “I feel that I've taken the reins. Maturity brings you self-confidence, and I'm at an age when I know exactly what I want.”

She continued: “Also, it brings you calm; you don't put so much pressure on yourself. I also feel even more eager about taking on projects, because now that my children are growing up, they don't need me as much as they used to.”
Pataky also expressed pride in encouraging others to look after themselves and become active.
“Well, if I can inspire people to take care of themselves, feel better and take up sport, that makes me proud.”
