Amber Luke has pushed her dramatic body transformation into eye watering territory by sharing footage of specialists tattooing her eyeballs blue. The social media influencer has been described as one of the world’s most tattooed women.
Luke calls herself Australia’s most tattooed woman and claims that approximately 98% of her body is covered in ink. Despite undergoing some especially serious procedures, she has said she has “no regrets” about her choices.
Her transformation has attracted more than 50,000 followers across platforms including Instagram. She uses social media to document her experiences, including journeys to other countries for extreme treatments that she has claimed are “highly illegal” elsewhere.
The latest video, posted last week, went beyond tattooing her skin. It showed Luke lying down while specialists worked on her eyes, injecting blue ink as her eyelid was held open.
Luke claimed this was actually the third time she had undergone the unusual procedure. The footage quickly drew stunned reactions from followers, with one user writing: “Girl you are insane but i love it,”
Another viewer focused on the discomfort involved, commenting: “My eye gets so sore and red after I poke it with my eye liner pencil! Can’t imagine getting this done !!”.
A third follower praised the result but made clear that the possible consequences were too severe for them. The follower wrote: “I absolutely love it, but don't have your guts to do it. The risk of going blind for me is worse than dying.”
The practice is known as scleral tattooing. It involves injecting ink directly into the white portion of the eye in order to change its color.
Major medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, have strongly warned people against the procedure. Scleral tattooing is regarded as extremely risky because it can cause permanent blindness or even the loss of the eye.
Luke’s extensive body modifications have also carried a substantial financial cost. Some estimates place her total spending on tattoos and other work at more than £200,000.
Her eye tattoos are only one element of an extensive series of modifications. In June, Luke traveled to Barcelona to have a “coin slot” added to her ear.
In a social media video about that procedure, Luke said she was excited to add the modification to her “super mutilated” ear, which she said had been “f**ked up twice now”. She told fans she was “super keen” and believed the result would “look f**king awesome”.
Luke explained that the coin slot procedure involved creating a hole in the helix of her ear and placing several rings in that space. During the Barcelona trip, she also wanted to have something called a “silicone bow” placed in her hand.
Her appearance was once markedly different, although tattoos have been part of her entire adult life. Luke received her first tattoo at 16 because she wanted to discover what the experience felt like.
By the time she was 20, Luke had decided that she wanted a “full bodysuit” of ink. Five years later, tattoos covered almost all of her body, leaving little available space for additional designs.
Luke has said her goal is “to look f**king sick”. At the same time, she does not want any of her modifications to go wrong or heal badly and leave her facing further problems.
